How TikTok diamonds work

TikTok LIVE uses three related ideas: Coins (what viewers buy), Gifts (what viewers send), and Diamonds (what creators collect). UnlockStars helps you turn diamond counts into a simple USD estimate.

Coins

Viewers purchase Coins in the TikTok app or on the web. Coin prices vary by country and store fees (Apple/Google often make in-app packs more expensive than web checkout).

LIVE Gifts

During a LIVE, viewers spend Coins on virtual Gifts. Each Gift has a fixed Coin cost. Popular examples often cited publicly include Rose (1), Finger Heart (5), Perfume (20), Paper Crane (99), Galaxy (1,000), and Lion (~30,000).

Diamonds

Creators receive Diamonds based on LIVE gifts and related LIVE activity. Diamonds are one signal TikTok uses when calculating LIVE rewards. They are not a bank balance by themselves.

Estimated USD value

TikTok does not publish one official worldwide diamond-to-cash exchange rate. Creator communities commonly estimate 1 diamond ≈ $0.005 USD (so 1,000 diamonds ≈ $5). UnlockStars uses that convention for planning.
